METALS INDUSTRY APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

- If
you are a current or recent metals industry apprentice, have
achieved outstanding development within your apprenticeship,
developed high level skills and done great things for your company,
this award is for you! -
The Metals Industry Apprentice of the Year competition is
designed to encourage and reward extraordinary development and
commitment to progression amongst apprentices in the UK metals
industry.
There are two awards available:
Career Development Award: designed to encourage
and reward extraordinary development and commitment to career
progression. Judges will look for commitment to develop self and
company.
Craft Skills Award: designed to encourage and
reward high level practical skills in any aspect of engineering or
manufacturing. The emphasis is on ‘hands on’ skills. Judges will
look for examples of work which demonstrates the achievement of
high level practical skills.
Applications are invited from current apprentices, or those who
have completed since 1 January 2009, in any job or position in a UK
metals company who have made outstanding progress in terms of
developing their knowledge, skills and career in metals, coupled
with making a valuable contribution to their company during their
apprenticeship.
Applications should be submitted, on the official Metals
Industry Apprentice of the Year application form no later than
Monday 19 April 2010 to Peter Hill

Finalists will be invited to interview in Sheffield on
Tuesday 27 April 2010.
The winners will be announced on 30 April 2010
and will be invited to attend the official presentation at the
Court Dinner of Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers in London
on 24 May 2010.
