All applicants will
need GCSEs to show that they have the ability to progress in the
metals industry. As well as passes in English, Maths and Science
employers will also be very interested in applicants who have the
new GCSEs in vocational subjects.
Vocational GCSEs

sixth form colleges and colleges of further education
- aim to enable students
to start getting the skills for working life in the 21st century
- include visits to
metal companies, group project work, solving examples of real
situations in business, using materials produced by companies.
Metals employers will particularly value
GCSE passes in: Applied Business, Applied ICT, Engineering, Manufacturing
