Member Benefits

As a MetSkill member company you will receive:

  • Training: all training programmes offered through MetSkill are developed by the industry for the industry according to best practice and recognised industry standards. To start with, we can offer your company a training needs analysis, focussing on your priority business issues that have an impact on skills needs in your business.

  • Employer steering groups: members lead employer steering groups to ensure that every product meets the exacting standards of the industry, is up to date with current legislation and is delivering tangible business benefits in companies.

  • Cost reductions: as a member, your business will receive significant discounts on all MetSkill programmes, including apprenticeships, as soon as you join. See our latest product literature and price list for full details.

  • Source of Funding: members get exclusive information and advice on sources of funding available locally to support training activities. We can also sort out any funding applications and paperwork that can be too complex and time-consuming to deal with in-house.

  • Influence: being part of a Sector Skills Council, we are constantly campaigning on behalf of our sector to improve the quality and availability of education and skills provision across the UK. SEMTA works closely with Government Departments, Learning and Skills Councils, Regional Development Agencies, Local Education Authorities and many other public bodies to ensure the needs of our sector are understood and catered for wherever possible.

  • Health and safety: Passport schemes make sure your employees are certified competent, which can have a positive effect on your Employer Liability insurance premiums and lost time due to accidents and associated costs.

  • Information: A monthly bulletin with updates on all products, services and funding information will automatically be sent to you.

  • Advice: Provision of day-to-day advice and guidance on skills issues, training provision and funding from our dedicated Employer Services Team.

  • Networking meetings: Networking meetings are held in order to update members with any significant changes to funding or products, and also to gain your feedback about what you would like us to offer in the future.

  • Discounts on selected events – MetSkill is currently working closely with The Manufacturer and can offer discounts on joint events and subscription rates.
