2007 News:

MetSkill and Semta merge

In July 2005, MetSkill merged with the Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance (SEMTA), forming one of the largest UK Sector Skills Councils. All current activities will continue, using the current brand names MetSkill, MICE and Metals Academy.

Welcoming the merger, MetSkill chairman, Stephen Tilsley says, “the Board has for some time been exploring how the sector might best be represented in the SSC network. The merger will enhance both employer influence and practical benefits for companies. We will now be able to draw on SEMTA’s wider access to policy makers and funds for employers, as well as extending MetSkill’s business-oriented services to a greater range of companies.”
