| Vocationally-related
qualifications
Vocationally-related qualifications (VRQs) refer to the variety of different awards that have been accredited into the NQF that have a vocational focus and develop skills that are of practical value in the work place. Consequently, VRQ is the title given to qualifications developed independently by individual Awarding Bodies (usually in conjunction with the relevant industry). For example, MetSkill has supported City & Guilds (C&G) in the development of a VRQ in Process Technology with a specific pathway in Metal Production to update and replace the previous industry qualification in Iron and Steel Production. The new qualification (C&G 0603) will be available at NQF Levels 2 and 3 at a number of Colleges from September 2005.
